Summary

Soon to be a streaming series in Summer 2021!

Belly has an unforgettable summer in this stunning start to the Summer I Turned Pretty series from the New York Times bestselling author of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (now a major motion picture!), Jenny Han。

Some summers are just destined to be pretty。

Belly measures her life in summers。 Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August。 Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad。 They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer—they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between。 But one summer, one wonderful and terrible summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along。

This book makes me forget that I’m even reading。 It’s so good, I just keep turning pages without even realizing how quickly I’m flying through it。 I am so excited to start the second book!

I decided to read this book as it was both recommended by my step-sister and there was a rumour that it was being turned into a movie。 Not wanting to be one of the people that read it 'after the movie' I decide to read it over the summer。 I have 'sat' on this book for about six months now, and my initial thoughts as of the conclusion of the book have remained constant。 Having high expectations going into it, I was fairly disappointed with how it turned out。 I found it a little jumpy with all the I decided to read this book as it was both recommended by my step-sister and there was a rumour that it was being turned into a movie。 Not wanting to be one of the people that read it 'after the movie' I decide to read it over the summer。 I have 'sat' on this book for about six months now, and my initial thoughts as of the conclusion of the book have remained constant。 Having high expectations going into it, I was fairly disappointed with how it turned out。 I found it a little jumpy with all the time jumps, and the love interest is a not-good guy。 I, in general, do not appreciate the friends-to-lovers arc so having the two main characters only interacting both in the summer and when their moms meet up does not bode well for me。 Despite the book having cute moments between the lovers, I did not like it as much as I was expecting to。 。。。more

3。8/5Such an amazing book。 Beautiful setting amd story。 The end was what i exactly wanted (not the you know what part, the love part)。 Definitely a great read。 im sure i will re-read this soon! Belly, the main character is a lil bit problematic, she gets angry and says things that she doesnt mean for no reason, like she is a child。i had a small problem at first cause i couldnt get when it was talking about the past and when about the presemt but i got it fast enough。i hope you guys enjoy it!have 3。8/5Such an amazing book。 Beautiful setting amd story。 The end was what i exactly wanted (not the you know what part, the love part)。 Definitely a great read。 im sure i will re-read this soon! I liked the book。 It took me back the the nostalgia of youth and summer camp and crushes on grade school boys。 it was a very easy and fun read and drew me in :)

I'm。。。 sad。 I'm sad。 Not because the book's story or writing drew sadness from me, but because my memories of this book were so much better than my current experience。 I gave it 3/5, accounting for the fact that I did love it when I was its intended audience。 But now that I'm an adult with a little more life under my belt, this book just didn't follow me the way some other YA romances do。 The book is essentially a coming of age novel for Belly (cringe), a sixteen-year-old girl who spends the sum I'm。。。 sad。 I'm sad。 Not because the book's story or writing drew sadness from me, but because my memories of this book were so much better than my current experience。 I gave it 3/5, accounting for the fact that I did love it when I was its intended audience。 But now that I'm an adult with a little more life under my belt, this book just didn't follow me the way some other YA romances do。 The book is essentially a coming of age novel for Belly (cringe), a sixteen-year-old girl who spends the summer at Cousin's Beach each year with her mom, brother, mom's best friend, and mom's best friend's two sons。 She's always been the little sister but this summer, she really wants to be "one of the guys。" Of course, she also has romantic interest in。。。 every single guy except her biological brother because she's a sixteen year old girl。 None of these summary points make the book bad。 The part that makes this hard to read is how unlikable and overwhelmingly immature Belly is。All of the major conflict in this story presents as a fist-fight, the novel jumps around erratically so sometimes Belly is 12, sometimes 16, sometimes 14, and so on。 It's a bit jarring and I found myself confused once about how old she actually was because it wasn't made clear until nearly the end that this summer was her 16th birthday。 Similarly, the author didn't let us know that "Belly's" actual name was Isabel。 I just find it so weird that she literally introduces herself as "Belly" to other kids at the beach。 I'm supposed to believe that this a real person? It's also frustrating because you know that Belly has to end up with Conrad。 No matter how bad he is for her, she keeps coming back to him。 He's the one right? Plus, this is a Jenny Han novel and Jenny does love her formula。 Regardless, unless Jeremiah does something horrific over the next two books, he is definitely a better choice because he's actually decent to her。 I don't actually remember how this series ends so I suppose it could go the other way, but I doubt it。At this point, I want a book about Susannah/Beck and Laurel。 。。。more

so I read this cuz I miss summer so much and the vibe was very summery and nice and beachy, but the book was meh。 The main character is actually annoying as fuck anything she does makes me hate her even more。 She’s like an annoying baby and made me not like the book 😍 but cuz it’s so summer vibes towards the middle it was good and I enjoyed like the act of reading it。

I read this book in 2 days, I just couldn’t put it down!! The story is so beautiful, I could identify with the main character Belly so much。 The book gives you a total summer feeling。 At the end there is a really big plot twist, I personally didn't expect it, I cried for an hour so much I felt for the characters。 The best book I've read in a long time。 I love this type of book ♡ I read this book in 2 days, I just couldn’t put it down!! I’d give this book at 3。5 ⭐️。 It’s definitely for a younger audience I’d say, 12-14 year olds, which is probably why I didn’t enjoy it that much! 。。。more

It’s so shocking to me that to all the boys I’ve loved before has better reviews than this series! This book/series has everything you want in a YA series and is a perfect bridge to adult romance。。 first love, a love triangle, BROTHERS and of course the heartbreak that is family dynamics and the teenage girl。 I still tear up at the end when Susannah says take care of him🥺 can’t wait to see this on the series but also worried it’s gonna ruin it for me a little just cause the book series is so mem It’s so shocking to me that to all the boys I’ve loved before has better reviews than this series!
